8 Popular Rug Stores in Singapore

1. The Cinnamon Room

the cinnamon room - rugs store singapore

Exquisite range of stunning, premium rugs for modern homes

Receiving the Gold Award for Best Gifts, Silver Award for Best Carpets & rugs, and a Finalist for Best Designer in Expat Living’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2021, you can expect chic, eye-catching rugs of top-notch quality from The Cinnamon Room. Perfectly complementing modern homes of today, The Cinnamon Room retails contemporary hide rugs, timeless Dhurrie rugs, handwoven and braided Jute rugs, and their latest, most anticipated collection – the luxurious and super soft outdoor PET Yarn rugs

Super soft outdoor PET Yarn rugs that feel like wool

Outdoor Rugs

We know that time is a precious commodity and that you can easily checkout from the website, but if you have some time to spare, we highly recommend dropping by The Cinnamon Room’s showroom to feel their outdoor rugs in person. You won’t regret it!

These incredible outdoor rugs are made of 100% recycled plastic from a material known as Polyethylene Terephthalate. If you are a fan of quality, eco-friendly products, this is it. With discarded plastic bottles treated at high temperatures, this is then transformed into PET Yarn, a soft and thin fibre which looks and feels like a fine wool blend. The unique PET Yarn is then loom-woven and hand-finished by skilled artisans using traditional techniques.

Contemporary hide rugs for a touch of sophistication

Our personal favourite – their hide rugs. Well known for their geometric metallic style, their chic, contemporary hide rugs are a quick and fuss-free way to add a touch of sophistication to your home. We absolutely love their metallic hide rugs which we got for our living room, and their laser etched rug for our bedroom. Both rugs have spiced up our living room space and beautifully complemented the modern luxe theme that we envisioned.

Low maintenance and highly customisable

While having a rug might seem like an added hassle to some, the rugs by The Cinnamon Room stand out for their durability and are very easy to care for. Unlike other materials like wool, hide rugs do not soak up liquids as easily. Hence when any spillage happens, simply wipe it up with a damp cloth and it is as good as new. Even spilled red wine can be wiped away with a damp cloth! We tested it, accidentally, and it really works.

While they usually have two standard sizes to choose from, you can choose to customize the rugs to fit your space perfectly. Visha Nelson, the founder of Cinnamon Room, is very hands-on when it comes to helping customers. You can often find her in the showroom where she is more than willing to walk you through design ideas that will best enhance your space. Read their great reviews here and on Google.

What we like about The Cinnamon Room: What we like most about The Cinnamon Room is its relentless focus on ethical sourcing and eco-friendly products. Hats off to them!

How to finance your home renovation or styling?

If you need to take up a loan to finance your home renovation or styling, do note that renovation loans often do not give you the cash upfront, hence you may not be able to use it for shopping, depending on whether your interior designer or stylist includes it in their quotation. If so, you might wish to consider a personal loan instead. Personal loans have slightly higher interest rates than renovation loans, but you get the cash flexibility. Our friends at Singsaver have compiled the best personal loans for you to check out.

When buying your lights, we also suggest using credit cards that give you rebates, so you get extra savings. Every little bit of savings can go a long way!
