1. Bakalaki Greek Taverna

Amazing authentic Greek food
Bakalaki makes you feel like in the land of the Mediterranean once you step in. The interior is warm and welcoming, reminiscent of a traditional Greek home designed by award-winning Greek designer Dimitris Economou. Some of the recommended Greek Food includes Tzatziki (Greek Yogurt, $15), Spanakopita (Greek Filo Pastry $16), Moussaka (Minced Beef Casserole $26), Beef Souvlaki (Beef Skewers, $19), Paidakia (Grilled Lamb Chops, $32.90), Htapodi (Grilled Octopus, $33), Mixed Grill Fish & Seafood Platters ($119), ending with desserts of Baklava (Filo Pastry, $15), and Loukoumades (Greek Doughnuts, $15). On the other hand, if you want something light, the Horiatiki a traditional Greek Salad is recommended. The vegetables used were fresh, the tomatoes sweet, olives tasty, and the extra-virgin olive oil was top-notch quality.

2. Blu Kouzina

Most charming Greek restaurant
Blu Kouzina has 2 outlets; Dempsey and Siglap where you can also book their available menu there. The main difference would be the decor of the restaurants. The Blu Kouzina Siglap has more Santorini vibes while the one at Dempsey gives off a general Mediterranean aesthetic. Fried Artichokes are a good dish to start with. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, delivering the unique artichoke flavour. Xtapodi, or grilled octopus, is another option. This is a considerable sum (as is the price). Instead, when you bite down on the octopus, it remains soft while preserving its look. If you prefer the meatless meal side, try Effie’s vegetarian moussaka, which is served in a baked dish and contains tomato, chickpeas, lentils, eggplant, potato, and bechamel.

3. Original Sin

Mediterranean-vegetarian meal
What’s great about Original Sin is that it is consistent in terms of food quality (probably why it’s been around for almost 15 years – it’s a great recipe for success). It is no different from other times, and favourites like the Bosco Misto (spinach, feta, and tofu patties coated with crushed almonds and sesame seeds – a bestseller since the restaurant’s inception) and the earthy, creamy Magic Mushroom (baked Portobello mushroom with ricotta cheese, pesto, spinach, topped with mozzarella and tomato basil sauce) will definitely not let you down. If you’re here and you see specials like the burrata and the potato gnocchi on the menu, do yourself a favour and order these creations, too. These items are not available every day, so don’t miss the chance to sample them.

4. Istanblue Mezze & Grill Turkish Restaurant

Handmade everything on-site
Istanblue Mezze & Grill House has the longest queue of any kebab stall here. Despite being a pure takeaway stall, Istanblue Mezze & Grill House has taken the trouble to handmake everything on-site, from rolling and baking their dough, tortillas, and pita bread, to marinating and slow grilling their chicken and beef meats. On the other hand, the kebabs and pita bread at Istanblue Mezze & Grill House are excellent, with soft, chewy, fluffy dough. Generously stuffed with marinated meat and fresh vegetables, each bite packs flavour. Portions are decently sized for one person, and prices are the same as elsewhere, budget about $6 per person for one item.Â

5. Alati Divine Greek Cuisine

Light and healthy Greek meals
The good news is that Alati, which employs Greek chefs, provides guests with a convenient way to taste Greek cuisine and wine without having to drive too far. The crusty bread in the basket had a lovely chewy texture and was baked in-house. For appetisers, how about a hearty serving of Horiatiki, a Greek salad? Cucumber, tomatoes, red onions, pitted olives, bell peppers, and a complete feta cheese square topped with capers. If you like fish, the Aegean Sea’s Salt-baked Milokopi is a must-try. Milokopi, sometimes called bearded umbrine, is baked with a salt crust to keep the moisture in the meat.

Exotic Mediterranean-style cuisine
Diners at Miska Cafe may take advantage of large tablespaces and vast sights of private boats and yachts docked in the water, ready for their next adventure. This Mediterranean-style cafe’s menu is extensive, yet the pricing is affordable given its location. Expect to find exotic hummus and falafels with traditional brunch cuisine like toast and noodles. There’s also a Ladies section on the menu with lower-calorie selections for individuals watching their weight. The portions of their menu items are rather large for one adult. A classic Greek appetiser, Zorba serves up to six different homemade dips: tzatziki salad dip (greek cucumber yoghurt sauce), hummus dip, tirokafteri dip (spicy sheep feta cheese spread with fresh chillies), taramosalata dip (a cured cod roe sauce with olive oil and lemon juice), paprika dip, and fava dip. Their other two dishes were seafood items. The kalamari was the best dish of the day with thick juicy pieces of squid and also the grilled sea bream. Winestone, a Greek restaurant with a strong focus on its wine collection, is also available for retail purchase. Winestone’s dining area is flooded with plenty of natural light as well as ambient lighting, that’ll set the tone for intimate dinners, business gatherings, and group catch-ups. Winestone encourages its patrons to wine down and takes their time to savour the food and drinks offered. Which is how they came up with the Winestone Express Platter For 1 ($22), meant to enjoy while waiting for that one friend who’s always running a little late. It comes with a selection of cheeses (Brie de Meaux and Tomme de Savoie Fermière), cold cuts (Jamon Iberico de Cebo and Spanish Chorizo), focaccia bread as well as a glass of house pour red or white wine. 9. Al-Sanobar Lebanese Restaurant

Convenient Greek restaurant
On the other hand, Sanobar Lebanese Restaurant in Singapore is right in the middle of everything. It is at the intersection of all the major streets in the middle and you have usually someone playing music in front of you on the street. Also, there are a lot of people sitting in front of the local Greek place. Their Spring Chicken and other chicken kabab come in two rolls and is the best chicken dish out of all. The Biryani rice that comes with the dishes is also a must-try. The prices are slightly on the higher side due to the location, but comparing it to other Lebanese restaurants, it is way more affordable than them.
