At Samsara Ubud, relaxation isn’t just an option—it’s a way of life. Surrounded by lush jungle, fresh mountain air, and the soothing symphony of nature, the resort invites you to slow down and truly be present. Beyond its serene atmosphere, Samsara Ubud is truly picture-perfect. We had our maternity and family photoshoot there, and the results were nothing short of stunning. Every corner of the resort is absolutely gorgeous!

2. Unwind in the privacy of your own villa

Each villa at Samsara Ubud, starting from a generous 122 square metres, offers a private heated pool and a spacious outdoor area that invites guests to fully immerse in the natural beauty of Ubud. Thoughtfully designed by internationally acclaimed Balinese architect Popo Danes, the resort is crafted to be in complete harmony with its surroundings. The multi-level, layered architecture pays homage to Bali’s centuries-old rice terraces, with every villa enjoying unobstructed views of the lush tropical jungle. You’d be able to see the picturesque Ubud views first thing every morning!

Inside, the villas reflect a blend of contemporary Balinese décor, rich teakwood furnishings, and exotic fabrics. The bathrooms are equally impressive, featuring luxurious Makassar marble, double vanities, deep soaking bathtubs, and both indoor and outdoor showers. For families travelling, we highly recommend their 3-Bedroom Pool Villas, which we found incredibly spacious and comfortable for our growing family. Our kids had loads of fun, whether it was through swimming or exploring and just running around in our villa. The villa was also located near the hotel’s lobby, so it’s accessible and perfect if we wanted to go out or grab some food deliveries.

And speaking of the pool, one of the highlights of our stay was the Floating Breakfast experience – a must-try when in Bali. At Samsara Ubud, this unique experience is taken to the next level. Instead of the usual floating tray, breakfast is served on an adorable mini boat, complete with small holes to securely hold your drinks. Paired with the serene jungle setting and the warmth of the morning sun, the experience was picture-perfect and a really special moment to start our day. Not to mention the food tasted great too!

3. Take your taste buds on safari at The Kelusa 

Dining with a view in Ubud? Samsara Ubud has you covered. Perched amidst the treetops and named after the traditional Balinese village that borders the resort, The Kelusa offers a serene setting paired with beautifully crafted dishes, creating a timeless and unforgettable ambiance. A single peek on their menu here says it all!

Breakfast at Samsara Ubud quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. When we weren’t enjoying a floating breakfast, we headed to The Kelusa, and it never failed to impress. Breakfast had a good variety, served in ala carte style. They even have a Lobster & Egg on their Power Breakfast menu! We highly recommend getting that, perfect for starting your day on a high note.

4. Experience Traditional Balinese High Tea

Another must-try indulgence at Samsara Ubud is the traditional Balinese high tea experience they offer. Traditional, meaning, they serve all essentials treats on a wooden dulang, which includes a wide selection of savoury Balinese canapes, traditional Balinese sweets and fresh fruits. Afternoon tea will be brought to your villa – the perfect time to sip on some hot drink and enjoy unique and local treats! 

5. Join a Painting class in Ubud

If you’re traveling with family, you’ll truly appreciate how Samsara Ubud caters to guests of all ages with a variety of fun and enriching activities. One highlight we thoroughly enjoyed was the painting class, which allowed us to tap in on our creative sides. We had a wonderful time painting wooden eggs, and even our little Ally joined in, happily working on pebbles and paper. The class is thoughtfully designed to be fun and accessible for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. Our instructor, Badi, was exceptional—patient, passionate, and clearly talented. He generously shared some of his masterpieces with us, including a beautifully painted egg that took him five months to complete. Really amazing work!

6. Unwind under the stars through a Moonlight Cinema experience 

As night falls, gather the whole family for a magical experience at Samsara Ubud’s Moonlight Cinema. Set beneath the starry sky, this open-air screening brings classic films to life on a full-sized outdoor cinema screen. The cool Ubud night breeze, comfy seats, and really cozy ambience are truly not to be missed!

7. Lace up your shoes and explore Ubud

While the serene comforts of Samsara Ubud offer the perfect place to unwind, there’s so much more waiting to be discovered beyond the resort. Venture out and explore Bali’s traditional villages, where scenic walks reveal the island’s authentic charm and cultural richness. You can also visit neighbouring areas, more touristy spots around Ubud, Bali like Ayung River Rafting, Tegallalang Rice Terrace, Ubud Monkey Forest, and Tegenungan Waterfall. The choice is ultimately yours, and you can always for the resort’s kind and attentive staff to help you out with the travel arrangements.
