Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort Review – A Luxurious Beachfront Escape in the Heart of Kuta

Golden sunsets, rolling waves, lively nightlife, and one of Bali’s most vibrant shopping districts; few destinations capture the spirit of the Island of the Gods quite like Kuta. While millions visit its famous shoreline every year, tucked along the beachfront is a sanctuary where the pace slows, the ocean becomes your backdrop, and every detail is thoughtfully considered for a memorable stay.

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort combines direct access to Kuta Beach, spacious ocean-view rooms, family-friendly facilities, authentic dining experiences, and Balinese cultural activities in one convenient location. Read on to learn why it’s one of the best places to stay in Kuta.

8 Reasons to Stay at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort

1. A prime beachfront location with everything within easy reach

Beachwalk Shopping Centre Kuta

One of the first things we appreciated about Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is its exceptional location. Not only is it situated across from the famous Kuta Beach with direct access to Beachwalk Shopping Center, but it is also close to attractions such as the iconic Waterbom Bali water park, laid-back beaches in Legian and Jimbaran, and even other destinations like Uluwatu, Ubud, and Canggu are easily accessible for day trips.

Mornings begin with high energy watching surfers ride the waves, and as the sun slowly sets beyond the horizon, the beachfront transforms into one of the island’s most spectacular natural displays. Admired from your private balcony, the resort’s restaurants, or the infinity pool, the golden hues stretching across the ocean create a breathtaking backdrop that never grows old. It’s the kind of view that encourages you to pause, slow down, and simply take in the beauty of Bali.

Whether your itinerary is filled with sightseeing or simply relaxing by the beach, everything you need is conveniently within reach.

2. Wake up to breathtaking views in the Ocean Front Suite

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Ocean Front Suite

Our stay was made even more unforgettable as we had the privilege of experiencing the Ocean Front Suite, one of the most premium accommodations at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort.

Designed with an impressive sense of space at approximately 100 sqm and contemporary interiors, the suite instantly felt sophisticated yet inviting. The separate living room is furnished with a cosy couch and a well-built desk perfect not only for unwinding but also for catching up on work. Behind the living room wall is the refined bedroom complemented by plush Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience bedding. The suite’s dual-bathroom layout is also equally striking. A conveniently located guest powder room near the entrance offers added practicality, while the spacious master bathroom beside the bedroom features a deep soaking bathtub alongside a separate rain shower, creating a spa-like atmosphere.

What truly stole our hearts, however, is its breathtaking connection to the outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows stretch across the suite, bathing the room with natural light while perfectly framing uninterrupted views of Kuta Beach and the Indian Ocean beyond. We began our days stepping onto the private balcony, enjoying the calming sensation from the sound of the waves while watching it hit the shore. Then, as evening approached, we found ourselves returning to the balcony, settling into the outdoor chairs and simply admiring how the lively nightlife unfolds below.

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort’s suite is the kind of accommodation where you genuinely find yourself wanting to spend just as much time indoors as exploring the island outside.

3. A culinary journey at Sheraton that celebrates every moment of the day

One of the things that pleasantly surprised us during our stay was just how diverse the dining experiences were at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. From leisurely breakfasts, elegant and cultural afternoons, to romantic dinners, every meal felt lovingly prepared, not just in terms of the food itself, but also the atmosphere and heartfelt hospitality that accompanied it.

A delightful afternoon at &More and Sundowner Rooftop Bar

Our culinary journey began at &More by Sheraton, the resort’s stylish café and lounge located just off the lobby. One of its signature experiences is the Afternoon Tea, presented in a stylish jewellery box-inspired display. Opening each drawer is like unveiling a curated collection of tasty creations, making the presentation just as special as the treats themselves.

Delicate pastries, freshly prepared savoury bites, and premium drinks harmonized delightfully, creating an afternoon indulgence that was equal parts sophisticated and relaxing. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge before the next activity on our itinerary while simply enjoying the resort’s tranquil ambience.

For couples and travellers looking to unwind with cocktails, Sundowner Rooftop awaits. This venue provides uninterrupted panoramic views of Kuta Beach, where countless surfers can often be seen catching the final waves beneath Bali’s colourful evening sky.

In addition to the lovely atmosphere of watching the sun gradually disappear beyond the Indian Ocean while a cool sea breeze drifted through the open-air venue, our drinks were also expertly prepared. Fluffy Garibaldi and Not Cider perfectly complemented the serving of savoury nuts, creating a simple yet satisfying pairing as we settled in to enjoy the view.

A memorable birthday dinner with Italian Cuisine at Bene

Romantic Dinner at Bene Italian Kitchen

Located on the upper level of the resort overlooking the Indian Ocean, Bene Italian Kitchen combines authentic Italian flavours with breathtaking ocean views, making it one of Kuta’s most dreamy dining destinations. As we were celebrating my birthday, the team kindly prepared a three-course dinner that exceeded our expectations from beginning to end.

We started with the refreshing Heirloom Tomato Salad, where creamy burrata paired wonderfully with ripe tomatoes and fresh basil to create a light yet flavourful opening to the meal. Unable to decide between the two main course options, we happily chose one of each to share, Tagliata di Manzo (grilled beef sirloin steak) and Risotto Frutti di Mare (Jimbaran seafood risotto). Both dishes showcased quality ingredients and comforting Italian flavours, making it difficult to pick a favourite. To conclude the evening, we enjoyed an aesthetically plated dessert called Lavenda e Pera (Lavender mousse with poached pear and vanilla gelato) that provided the perfect sweet ending to what had already been a wonderful celebration. Or so we thought. Before leaving the outdoor setup they exclusively prepared for us, our server, smiling warmly, approached our table carrying a gorgeous bouquet of vibrant red roses. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture that genuinely made the evening even more special.

A diverse All-day Dining at Daily Social

Daily Social - Pool View

After a noteworthy Italian dinner, our second day was also filled with impressive dining experiences at Daily Social, an all-day dining restaurant open from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM. It is spacious with bright interiors, and guests may opt to dine indoors or outdoors by the pool.

The international breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of cuisines, catering to both local and international palates. Freshly baked pastries, tropical fruits, Indonesian specialties, made-to-order eggs, cereals, cheeses, cold cuts, noodles, freshly brewed coffee, and an assortment of juices ensure there’s something for every appetite.

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Balinese Megibung

For lunch, we were introduced to Megibung, a traditional communal dining experience originating from Karangasem in East Bali. Deeply rooted in Balinese culture, Megibung celebrates togetherness by bringing family and friends together over an abundant spread of dishes. Well-presented with a generous selection of authentic Balinese specialties, the meal showcased the richness and diversity of local flavours.

What made the experience extraordinary was the personal touch from the culinary team. Rather than simply serving the dishes, the chefs came to our table to introduce each component of the meal, explaining the ingredients, cooking techniques, and cultural significance behind every dish. These thoughtful interactions transformed lunch into something far more meaningful than simply enjoying delicious food, it became an opportunity to learn more about Balinese culinary heritage directly from the people passionate about preserving it.

As evening arrived, Daily Social transformed once again. While a wide spread of Indonesian favourites was available inside, a nice grilled seafood dinner was also set right by the pool. With the cool sea breeze and the warm hospitality of the team, it was another wonderful reminder that dining at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort is about far more than simply enjoying good food.

Looking back, what impressed us most wasn’t simply the quality of each meal, but also how every venue offered something distinctly different. Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort ensures that every meal becomes an experience worth remembering. Whether you’re celebrating an occasion, travelling as a couple, or simply looking to indulge during your Bali holiday, the resort offers a wonderful selection of restaurants and bars that take guests on a culinary journey from sunrise until after sunset.

4. Discover Bali beyond the beaches through immersive cultural experiences

While Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort certainly excels as a luxury beachfront retreat, its commitment to introducing guests to the rich traditions and culture of Bali is another strong point. Throughout our stay, we had the opportunity to participate in several hands-on experiences that offered a deeper appreciation of the island beyond its beautiful beaches.

Learning the art of Gebogan making

Our first activity after checking in was participating in a Gebogan making session, a traditional Balinese craft where fruits and offerings are orderly arranged into elaborate ceremonial displays commonly seen during temple festivals and religious celebrations.

Held just before sunset, the activity became even more worthwhile as the golden evening light bathed the resort in a warm glow, creating a peaceful atmosphere that perfectly complemented the experience. Guiding us through each step were the wonderful ladies, Manda and Indah, whose patience and encouragement made the activity enjoyable from beginning to end. They calmly demonstrated how each fruit and decorative element should be placed.

What initially looked surprisingly complex soon became a relaxing and rewarding activity, leaving us with not only a carefully arranged Gebogan but also a newfound appreciation for the artistry and symbolism behind this cherished Balinese tradition.

Bringing home the flavours of Bali through sambal making

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Balinese Food Chef at Daily Social

Food has always been one of the best ways to understand a destination, and our Sambal Making Class proved exactly that.

Led by the talented Chef Mingguana Nengah, we learned how to prepare two versions of Indonesia’s beloved chilli-based sauces: Sambal Matah, the iconic Balinese raw sambal made with fresh shallots, lemongrass, and chilli, alongside a cooked Sambal Embe, where the ingredients are thoroughly fried in hot oil to create a richer and deeper flavour profile.

Rather than simply demonstrating the recipes, chef explained how each sambal complements different Indonesian dishes and shared useful preparation tips that guests could easily recreate back home. It was a simple yet engaging experience that reminded us how food often tells the story of a culture more vividly than words ever could.

Ending our stay on a sweet note with Es Campur Making

Before checking out, we ended our stay on a sweet note by making our own Es Campur, one of Indonesia’s most refreshing traditional desserts.

Once again, Chef patiently guided us through each ingredient, explaining the role of colourful jellies, tropical fruits, sweet syrups and shaved ice before showing us how everything comes together into the beloved dessert. It was a wonderfully light-hearted way to conclude our stay, leaving us with both a delicious treat and another cherished memory to bring home.

These thoughtfully selected cultural activities beautifully complemented the resort’s lavish facilities, allowing us to leave Bali with experiences that extended far beyond sightseeing.

5. Relax by the infinity pool overlooking Kuta Beach

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Infinity Pool Ocean View

No resort in Bali feels complete without an inviting swimming pool, and Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort’s infinity pool provides the perfect place to unwind any time of the day. Whether you’re enjoying a refreshing swim, relaxing on one of the comfortable loungers with a good book, or simply sipping a drink while watching surfers catch the waves, the atmosphere encourages you to slow down and embrace Bali’s relaxed pace of life.

Families and couples alike will appreciate the resort’s thoughtful design. The infinity pool overlooking Kuta Beach, offers sunset views while remaining just steps away from shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

While the infinity pool is one of the favourite spots during sunset, we also experienced another immensely popular Bali “bucket list” here early one morning – a floating breakfast with ocean views. With its strategic location overlooking Kuta Beach and the Indian Ocean beyond, the pool creates the illusion of blending seamlessly into the horizon. The mesmerising view, with our American breakfast carefully arranged on a floating tray, started our day impeccably.

6. A rejuvenating massage at Shine Spa for Sheraton™

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort - Shine Spa

Every island escape deserves moments dedicated entirely to rest and relaxation, and Shine Spa provides exactly that. Designed as a tranquil sanctuary tucked away from the lively energy of Kuta, the spa welcomes guests into a calming environment where soothing aromas, gentle music and warm hospitality immediately set the tone for a restorative experience.

Our massage session was accompanied by the resort’s signature Boreh Ritual, a traditional Balinese wellness treatment inspired by centuries-old healing practices. From the very beginning, our therapists made every effort to ensure we felt completely comfortable. They regularly checked if the pressure was suitable, thoughtfully adjusted each technique to our preferences, and created an atmosphere where we could switch off from the outside world.

What impressed us most was that the treatments never felt rushed. Every movement was slow, intentional, and deeply relaxing, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience rather than simply counting down the minutes. By the time we left the treatment room, we felt not only physically refreshed but mentally recharged as well, exactly what every spa experience should achieve.

7. A beautiful destination for life’s most meaningful celebrations

Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort -Kuta Dome Signature

With its spectacular beachfront setting, chic event spaces and renowned hospitality, Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort has long been a favourite venue for weddings, anniversaries and milestone celebrations.

Adding to its outstanding collection of event venues, the resort will soon introduce a brand-new Kuta Dome, offering couples an exciting new setting for intimate weddings, proposals, vow renewals and private celebrations. Set against the backdrop of Bali’s legendary sunsets and the Indian Ocean, the contemporary dome promises a unique venue where heartwarming moments can be shared with family and friends in a remarkable beachfront setting.

Combined with posh accommodation, exceptional dining experiences and Marriott’s trusted event expertise, Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort continues to establish itself as one of the most desirable destinations in Bali for both destination weddings and significant celebrations.

8. Genuine hospitality that leaves a lasting impression

Amazing location, exceptional dining, and deluxe facilities may be what first attracts guests to Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, but it is the people who honestly complete the luxurious experience.

The team’s hospitality remained consistently warm throughout our stay. Aldo enthusiastically welcomed us upon arrival, while Ayubi kindly gave us a personalized tour of the resort and even stayed until the end of my birthday dinner. During our Gebogan-making session, Ms Sitha took the time to personally greet us, while Manda and Indah patiently guided us throughout the activity. At Shine Spa, the therapists ensured our comfort throughout every treatment, while the chefs passionately introduced each dish during our Megibung lunch and later taught us about Sambal and Es Campur. Elis and the restaurant team also made every meal feel genuinely special.

It’s this earnest hospitality, so deeply rooted in Balinese culture, that transforms a wonderful holiday into one you’ll continue talking about long after returning home.
