Sample Itinerary
A Siquijor-Dumaguete trip is all about those chill vibes with just the right amount of adventure—at least, that’s how it was for us. If you’re looking for tips and recommendations for your own getaway, you’re in the right place! We’re sharing our full itinerary, including all the spots we visited, where we stayed, and where we ate, so you can easily plan your own trip.
Day 1:
We flew into Dumaguete, making it our entry point. If you’re doing the same, just head straight to the port and hop on a ferry to Siquijor. The ride with OceanJet takes just 40-50 minutes, and if you can, go for the business class—it’s totally worth it!
We stayed at Coco Grove Beach Resort, and everything went smoothly from the get-go. Their coaster bus was ready to pick us up at the port, and we were welcomed at the resort with refreshing watermelon drinks before check-in.
As the day winds down, you can kick back and enjoy a beachside dinner. If you’re there on a Monday, definitely try the BBQ dinner with live music and a fire dance. Oh, and don’t miss those epic sunsets—they’re the perfect way to end the day!
Day 2:
Time to explore Siquijor! We had Kuya Albert, a super friendly tuktuk driver, as our guide. His ride was surprisingly comfy for the three of us, but if you’re a couple or solo traveler, you can rent a scooter from Coco Grove or any other hotel for a fun DIY adventure.
Start with the stunning Pitogo Cliff, then check out the mystical Old Enchanted Balete Tree. Next, swing by the historic Lazi Church and Convent. Definitely worth spending some extra time here. Kuya Albert was kind enough to take so many beautiful pictures of us along the way—I’m so thankful for the memories he captured!
This should take you about half the day, so after that, head over to Cambugahay Falls. You’ll want to spend at least 2-3 hours here to swim and explore.
There are two more falls you might want to check out—Lagaan and Lugnason Falls—but if you’re running short on time or energy, you can always save them for another trip. You can also ask your tour guide for advice!
After a day of adventures, catch the sunset at Paliton Beach, then end the night with a cosy dinner at Dolce Amore for some Italian vibes.
Day 3:
Start your day with some snorkeling at Tubod Marine Sanctuary, right in front of Coco Grove.
After that, head to the Man-Made Forest and Salagdoong Beach. And don’t forget to swing by Lilibeth Pan De Bisaya to try their torta—it’s like a local pound cake and seriously delicious.
Finish off the day with dinner at Salamandas. It wasn’t open when we visited, but it comes highly recommended, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
One last tip: If you’re there on a Tuesday or Thursday, make sure to join the free yoga sessions at Coco Grove. It’s the perfect way to unwind!
Day 4:
Apo Island is calling! Coco Grove really made it easy for us by taking care of everything—boat rides, snorkeling or diving gear, guides, and even meals. So if you’re planning a day trip to Apo Island, let your resort handle the arrangements.
After a full day of exploring, head back to the resort and unwind by the pool with a cocktail in hand. For dinner, we couldn’t get enough of the ceviche, crispy pata, and pancit canton. And if the evening’s breezy, you can even request a comforting bowl of tinolang mahi-mahi.
To wrap up the day, treat yourself to a massage at Coco Grove’s spa—it’s got serious Bali vibes and is the perfect way to end the night.
Day 5:
Start your day with a relaxed breakfast by the beach before making your way back to Dumaguete. Check into The Henry Resort—it’s where we stayed, and it’s super charming and full of character.
Once you’re settled, head out to explore Dumaguete’s highlights: St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Silliman University, and a stroll along Rizal Boulevard.
For dinner, don’t miss Buglas Isla Café. But before that, you can try to enjoy happy hour at Popolo in The Henry Hotel. Their gin and tonic or Aperol spritz is the perfect way to wind down!
Day 6:
Rent a car from The Henry and head to Valencia. Explore Forest Camp Resort, the sulfur vents, Mango Ranch, and Tierra Alta. Don’t miss the glass bridge with its amazing views, and make sure to have lunch at Tierra Café.
Later, swing by Rizal Boulevard for some local street food. The tocino barbecue from Hanna’s or Sioni’s is a must-try and absolutely worth it.
End your day with dinner at The Dining Room at The Henry. It’s the perfect way to wrap things up.
Day 7:
Take it easy today. Start with breakfast at Sans Rival Café, then kick back and soak up the relaxing vibe at The Henry. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are more tours to try, like Bais and Manjuyod Sandbar, or even whale shark watching in Oslob. We decided to keep it slow, taking a leisurely stroll along the boulevard and enjoying the city’s laid-back charm.
For dinner, Si Señor at The Henry was the highlight. The jamon wrap and gazpacho soup were absolutely delicious!
Day 8:
On your last day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast at Noelle’s Brunch Bar, and if you have time, grab lunch at Popolo. Before you go, make sure to pick up some silvanas and sans rival from Café Sans Rival (or The Red Kitchen for more pasalubong options).
Our trip had just the right balance of relaxation, adventure, and local flavour. Feel free to follow it exactly or tweak it to make it your own!
Conclusion
One thing we learned is that the best trips are the ones that leave you with lasting memories—and we’re sure your family will create plenty of those along the way. So we hope this travel guide has made your Siquijor-Dumaguete adventure feel a little more within reach. Wishing you safe travels and lots of fun!
