The entrance to The Tulou Bali by Nakula Villa Management and Rental is a portal to grandeur, akin to stepping into the opulent lobby of a 5-star resort. But unlike your usual colossal resorts, this property allows you to experience an intimate getaway in Bali, without skimping on space. The Tulou Bali features a variety of villas, and you may even find a hard time deciding which to choose because all the villas boast their own unique character. You can even book all of them together! In total, there would be 10 bedrooms or you can book 6 bedrooms (adjust it based on the amount of your group!), making the property perfect for large groups travelling together. There are also various places for a big group to enjoy each other’s company, such as an outdoor deck, massive living and dining areas, as well as the resort’s main restaurant. 

For smaller groups, we would have to recommend their luxe two-bedroom villa with pool. Located at the top level of The Tulou Bali property, it feels spacious enough while also maintaining a very private vibe. We also loved their luxurious bathroom that spotlights a deep soaking tub and a ceiling-mounted rain shower, plus their own balcony boasting the gorgeous ocean view – all are pure bliss.

We love its scenic view – great for those who are looking forward to unwinding. No matter what you have in mind, we bet that waking up to the gentle sound of waves crashing against the rocks below paired with the panoramic views of the Indian Ocean stretching out before you can sure put you in a good mood. And you get to see all of it right from your villa! 

3. A swimming pool paradise that is good for the soul

Let’s be honest, no Bali vacation is complete without dipping in a swimming pool. And what we love most about The Tulou Bali is they take things up a notch with a colossal swimming pool, a shimmering expanse mirroring the azure skies, stretch majestically before you. The best part is that it is located right by the cliffside, with stunning flora and landscape surrounding the pool of water. Watch as the wind blows and how the leaves dance along – creating an overall relaxing vibe as if time stops for you.

If you book all 10 bedrooms, you will have access to all 4 pools within the property. Aside from the huge main pool located near the restaurant, there are also private pools inside the villas. Our 2-bedroom villa even had a rooftop pool, which our kids enjoyed very much. The view from there was also breathtaking!

While there are lots of restaurants around the area of the villa, no Jimbaran experience is complete without indulging in a cliffside BBQ night! The property had a mini restaurant, but we highly recommend dining in the open area overlooking the breathtaking cliffside view, especially at sunset when the sky transforms with stunning hues. Bali’s famous sunsets, indeed! 

The experience not only offers delicious food but also exceptional value for money. For just IDR 500,000, you can have a private chef (with an additional IDR 50,000 per person) to cook an incredible feast for you. Groceries are shouldered by the guests, but still definitely a steal with the quality of food that gets served on the table. And since you are in Jimbaran after all, expect that the seafood tastes heavenly. The tiger prawns, pork ribs, corn and mixed vegetables were our top favourites, and be sure to request more sambal matah! Alternatively, you can order from their menu but be prepared to wait a bit for the preparation.

Of course, going around Bali, especially in the famous Jimbaran Bay is a must. Have your hotel arrange transportation so you can go to the nearby beach. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can also opt for water sports activities! With the resort’s central location in the middle of Southern Bali, you may also find Gojek rides very convenient in bringing you to the beach, as well as to beach clubs at Jimbaran, Uluwatu, or even Nusa Dua.

Whatever you need, you can avail of their impressive butler service who will always be there for you during your stay. With the intent to exceed your set expectations, you can also definitely ask the concierge to arrange airport transfers, activities, and even bookings for recommended places to eat. Our butlers, Yasa and Julian, made our trip effortless and memorable. They even went above and beyond by receiving our GoFood orders from Gojek and delivering them to our villas for dining. They assisted us in storing leftovers from our BBQ dinner feast and ensured the food was heated for the next day. During our pool time, they thoughtfully provided enough towels for our group and even passed us volleyballs to play with in the pool. Our party is more than thankful to the resort’s staff for treating us so well!
