The moment we arrived at the resort, we knew something was different. SAii Lagoon Maldives isn’t your typical resort island in the Maldives – it actually looks like a charming little town! In addition to SAii Lagoon Maldives, the island is also home to two other resorts, and of course, The Marina at CROSSROADS Maldives – a lifestyle hub featuring a 30-berth quay, upscale retail shops, a wide array of international restaurants, a full-service spa, and yes, even a nightclub. It’s the kind of place where you can explore, indulge, and unwind all in one day.

One of the highlights? The SAii Beach Club. It’s your go-to for ultimate leisure—think massive infinity pool with panoramic ocean views, direct beach access, a gelato corner for cooling off under the sun, and premium casual dining spots that elevate laid-back luxury. You’ll also find specialty bars, a boutique shop, and relaxed poolside vibes that are just as perfect for unwinding as they are for socializing.

Families seeking quality time in paradise will find the 2-Bedroom Family Beach Room with Pool especially ideal, complete with a private plunge pool, direct beach access, and connecting villas for added convenience. Inside, natural textures and soothing marine tones echo the island’s nautical heritage, while bespoke bathroom amenities can be customized at the signature aroma bar for a truly personalized touch. And the best part? Each villa offers you incredible view!

3. Padel by the sea

One of the standout experiences during our stay was undoubtedly padel by the beach. Recognised by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the most spectacular padel courts in the world, these state-of-the-art oceanside courts combine world-class facilities with awe-inspiring natural beauty. You get to play padel with the stunning Indian Ocean as your backdrop, while coconut palms sway gently in the breeze—it’s a setting that feels almost surreal.

This was our first time trying padel, and it couldn’t have been more memorable. We played for a full hour, yet it felt far too short given how much fun we had. Yes, the courts can be used even by first-timers, as there are lots of coaches who can guide you through your session. Open daily from 7am to 11pm, the courts offer flexibility for every kind of session for early risers to night-time players. But if you ask us, we highly recommend going for a sunset match—the golden glow over the ocean is absolutely breathtaking!

4. Get ready for endless adventures in the water

And of course, what’s a Maldives holiday without spending some time in the water? Surrounded by the breathtaking Indian Ocean, SAii Lagoon Maldives invites you to discover a world of aquatic adventures. Head over to the resort’s Ocean Water Sports & Dive Centre for all sorts of unforgettable experiences above and below the surface of the Indian Ocean. You can either ride the waves on a Superjet or chill by the sea with a kayak or stand-up paddle board ride. With activities suited for all ages and skill levels, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, all guests receive complimentary access to snorkelling gear, kayaks, and pedal boats! 

SAii Lagoon Maldives also offers various water excursions for the whole family. You can go for a snorkelling excursion and explore the kaleidoscopic beauty of the house reef surrounding our resort, swim with nurse sharks, or even set forth on a romantic sunset cruise. You can also opt to join Immerse in a world of impossible beauty surrounded by the abundant marine life of the Maldives. From introductory lessons for younger guests to advanced open water diving, the resort allows all levels and abilities to explore the underwater wonders of the Indian Ocean.

5. A haven for the little ones (and the kids-at-heart!)

Families can have the time of their lives at SAii Lagoon Maldives. In addition to being a full lifestyle destination, they also have this very dynamic club for the whole family – The Koimala & Maalimi’s Junior Beach Club and Camp. It’s a dynamic space designed for children aged 4 to 15. This innovative edutainment concept encourages young guests to unleash their creativity and curiosity through a wide range of engaging activities, all set against a backdrop inspired by the rich culture of the Maldives.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the little ones—there’s something here for everyone. Adults and kids alike can enjoy a lively recreation area featuring air hockey, a foosball table, and an incredibly fun arcade-style basketball machine. It’s the perfect place to release your inner child and share some laughs as a family. Younger children also have their own dedicated kids zone—complete with plenty of space to ride mini cars, engage in arts and crafts, and make new friends. Adding to the experience is an exceptional on-site education centre, which introduces children to important topics like sustainability and environmental conservation through storytelling, hands-on activities, and immersive learning.

Outside, a beautiful, private beach provides a wonderful location for a variety of games and activities, as does a dedicated area to get back to nature and camp under the stars. There’s even an outdoor sand play area for mini football, playground, and a huge trampoline. We highly recommend visiting this outdoor area in the morning or late afternoon; otherwise, it may be too hot. Regardless, the air-conditioned indoor kids area is still guaranteed to give your kids a blasting time!

6. Indulge in the flavours of the Maldives and beyond

From the vibrant flavours of Thailand to the sun-drenched tastes of the Mediterranean—and far beyond—SAii Lagoon Maldives offers an exceptional dining journey that celebrates international cuisine with flair and finesse. There are so many restaurants and bars to choose from on the whole island, so you’re basically spoilt for choice! You can opt for Miss Olive Oyl and Terra&Mar if you want Maldivian classics by the sea. Or if you are up for something huge: the iconic Ministry of Crab—ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants (2015–2022)—where you can feast on a colossal 2kg Crabzilla.

We especially enjoyed Japanese Night at Sessions Restaurant, where a delicious spread (including melt-in-your-mouth black cod) was accompanied by live performances and singing—an experience that delighted both our taste buds and senses. Another favourite was The Elephant & The Butterfly, offering laid-back beachfront dining with bold Mexican and Latin American flavours. And of course, Hard Rock Cafe brought its signature energy to the table with live music, classic comfort food, and a showcase of rock memorabilia—a must for music lovers.

7. Indulge in romantic experiences by the beach

In need of a much-needed breather with your partner? Treat yourselves to unforgettable dining experiences in some of the resort’s most stunning and secluded spots.
