If you are looking for more reasons to stay at The Oberoi, we have a specially curated list of why should you choose The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali among its many, many peers.
7 Reasons to Stay at The Oberoi Beach Resort, Bali
1. An idyllic retreat to rejuvenate your soul
The overall vibe of The Oberoi is simply amazing. The resort is beautifully landscaped and even boasts tropical gardens dotted with ancient Balinese temples. Not to mention the long stretch of a golden beach right in front of your accommodation! It’s really so serene there – the best place for a city escape. We saw some of the most incredible sunsets in many different colours – from paddle pop skies to fiery sunsets. The beach right in front of The Oberoi was expansive, wide, and flat as well, so you can get lovely reflections of the sunset in your photos. Also especially a lovely and safe haven for your little one to roam around!
But despite the serenity, the resort is just mere steps away from Seminyak’s world-class boutiques, vibrant nightlife, and celebrated restaurants, so you can always get back to the bustling atmosphere if you want to.
What also sets this resort apart is its ever-smiling Balinese staff wearing traditional dresses, ensuring an impeccable Oberoi service. We felt so welcomed!
From the moment we arrived, all the hotel staff were incredible and genuine from the heart. Special thanks to Wulan who served us afternoon tea; she even personally got our baby girl a bunny toy as a present! That was an amazing gesture from a hotel staff; something that we have never experienced before in all our trips. Thanks to Muka and Mei from breakfast time as well, as they paid special attention to Baby Ally and got her avocados, porridge with boiled chicken, and toast which she absolutely loved.
2. Stay in a traditional thatched accommodation
Combining the comforts of the west with the mystiques of the East, The Oberoi features a total of 74 villas and lanai rooms. To instill the Bali vibe, every single one of them is topped with a traditional thatched roof. Meanwhile, the interior includes a harmonious fusion of natural colour palettes, traditional design and contemporary technologies. Guests may choose their preferred view, whether you want a beautiful ocean or garden view. And even better, most of these rooms and villas have their very own private pool!
Travelling with the entire fam? No worries, The Oberoi has pretty spacious villas for you to stay on. For instance, the Luxury Ocean View Villa we recently stayed in is just perfect for our little family. The villa even comes with a private pavilion for al fresco dining and a luxurious pool framed by blossoming frangipani trees for a refreshing dip. There is also a very luxurious yet exotic sunken marble bath, complete with views of a private, walled, tropical garden for the ultimate serenity.
They also provide special pillows upon request – we got the medium firm supreme fibre comfort pillow, which was really comfortable when combined with the duck down pillow.
3. Taste delectable Balinese cuisines amidst ocean views
If there’s something better than eating good food, it is when you eat them while admiring a phenomenal view. At The Oberoi, take your pick from the thatched open-air Kura Kura Restaurant, the beachside Frangipani Cafe (great spot for breakfast!), or the charming Kayu Bar. Each restaurant has its own specialty, but if what you are looking for is authentic, exquisite Indonesian cuisine, then we highly recommend dining in the resort’s Kura Kura Restaurant.
Think – romantic dinner vibe while overlooking lotus ponds. In addition to the enchanting ambience and delectable food, you will also be serenaded with traditional ‘Angklung’ music and a variety of Balinese musical troupes, including the West Bali bamboo orchestra. We had a 3-course dinner and every bite was amazing! You can’t get a better way to cap off the day than this. Except, maybe, having a tropical cocktail (or two) in the Kayu Bar. The bar is also the most perfect place to have some daily afternoon tea, coffee, and cakes!
Our tip: Make sure that you try the seared beef tenderloin Harvey and pan-seared Japanese Black cod at the Kura Kura restaurant. Both seared to perfection, we really enjoyed these dishes during our stay in the resort! For desserts, the chocolate lava cake and tiramisu are a must-try as well.
4. Get a glimpse of Bali’s cultural life
Did you know that The Oberoi Bali has its very own amphitheatre? Yes, it’s just like ancient times! At this amphitheatre, Gamelan music and classical Balinese dance performances await every guest. Usually, performances are accompanied by a sumptuous candlelit dinner of world-class cuisine under the stars. And with the sound of crashing waves nearby, truly, the cultural heritage of Bali comes alive at The Oberoi.
If you are lucky to stay the whole week at the resort, you may also get to try the following activities:
Moreover, the resort’s beachfront is considered by the Balinese to be one of the holiest on the western coast of Bali. It is close to some of the most important temples on the island, at the same time, boasts hundreds of old trees that are said to be one of the most soothing
enlightening and conducive to spiritual well-being. So, if you are an early riser, don’t be surprised if you see ceremonies being carried out on the beach by local villagers. Some guests also stay in the resort just for meditation and reflection, along with their spiritual experts.

Our tip: Stay in The Oberoi between May and October to experience releasing baby turtles into the sea. At The Oberoi, you will have the chance to try Balinese, Western and Oberoi signature spa treatments that harmonise ancient philosophies and modern science, and use natural ingredients to cleanse, tone and refresh body and mind.
Our tip: Make sure that you don’t leave the resort without trying at least one of the resort’s signature spa treatments. During our stay there, I got a Balinese massage while Joce had a facial and head massage. The experience was incredible!
On top of the actual spa treatments, The Oberoi Spa comes with an ambience that’s already relaxing on its own. The spa features private therapy rooms housed in traditional, open-air pavilions, with views across private, tropical gardens and beautiful lily ponds flecked with shimmering goldfish. Really relaxing!
