Elegantly furnished and situated right in front of Bikini Beach on Maafushi island, enjoy dining on the beach with their dinner buffer at only US$10! The hotel features many excursions, free snorkeling gear and life vests. Free bike rental is also available. Widely reviewed as having very friendly staff, we loved it here when we came to book our excursions. Rooms start at $90.

2. Velana Beach Hotel

When it comes to warm hospitality and delicious cuisine, Velana Beach Hotel no doubt excels. Newly built in Nov 2015, Velana Beach brings you spacious, clean and classy rooms. We stayed at Velana for our honeymoon and it was a heartwarming and homely experience thanks to their warm hospitality. The happy atmosphere their staff give is contagious! The Western food they serve is an exceptional mention, with items on the menu only costing you about USD5-15 dollars. You also get free use of bicycles to explore the Maafushi island. Rooms start at S$70 with breakfast included.

1. Kaani Village & Spa

Packed with a full suite of amenities, Kaani Village & Spa surely tops our list. Located on Maafushi island, Kanni Village has a swimming pool, spa, free snorkeling gear and life jackets and even has a pool table! We stayed at Kaani Village & Spa on our first Maldives trip and we’ve never looked back on boutique hotels since. Look forward to clean and modern rooms, good service, a hot sauna, rejuvenating spa, sun lounging and tons of exciting excursions! Rooms start at S$100 – how do we say no to this great bargain? Kanni Village is TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice for 2016.
