Through her personal experience, Karen realised that professional planners and coordinators were very key to a successful and smooth sailing wedding. Not having one on her wedding day led her to be distracted on enjoying herself on her wedding day. She was surprised at how many things could possibly go wrong or get missed out on the wedding day. An Experienced Team
Having worked on many weddings, Karen was able to predict potential pitfalls and spot the missing items and elements for my wedding. Prior to our wedding, we met up to go through everything that we envisoned and prepared for our wedding thus far – from timeline to bridal party involvement and vendors. Karen inserted all these details all her templates and it made a very detailed programme and master sheet for us, our bridal party, vendors and family members to refer to easily. She also helped us with the multiple revisions until it was finalized.
Using her time sheet, she went through the flow of the wedding day, and covered all details down to the very nitty gritty, to ensure that all the gaps were filled in and nothing was missed out or left unaccounted for.
Karen also gave us many ideas to work with. For our unity candles as they were out in the open at the beach, she suggested to get tall vases to cover them to ensure that they do not blow out. Otherwise we could consider other modern options like sand pouring or canvas splashing too. Her ideas on gate crashing and having a bride and groom segment were all pretty creative and helped to make our wedding more fun!
Detailed and Meticulous
Prior to Karen helping us, we did not realise that we had so many things to think about! Such as vendor meals, we had to cater the meals but because our wedding location was at Sentosa, many places did not do deliveries to our hotel and wedding venue. She had to help us source for options such that we had those covered. During our meetups, Karen was very meticulous to scrutinize the entire schedule. She asked many questions to ensure that there were people delegated and in charge of every segment. She places a lot of importance in solving any problems, no matter how big or small prior to the wedding day, so that on the wedding day itself we had little to worry about.
Wedding planning can be a real headache. There are many elements that you need vendors for, and researching / sourcing for the suitable ones can be relatively time consuming. Thankfully Karen with her experience in the wedding industry has worked with many vendors before and so she could recommend the good ones to us based on what we needed.
Knowing that we had a very tight schedule, we needed our guests to be registered quickly, she recommended us to Guestday. Guestday automated our guest registration process and we had our guests sign in as quickly as 60 seconds! Also, the registration were done on several mobile iPads and not confined to a desk, so my bridesmaids could help direct my guests to the seating areas while registering them at the same time. Furthermore the iPads were all synced to each other in real time so it was very efficient. We were very thankful that Karen spotted that we would need this service!
In addition, Karen had also done a wedding at Tanjong Beach Club before, so she was familiar with the areas and management. Having an experienced wedding planner is helpful as she would have good knowledge on different weddings as well as venues.
Vendor coordination is essential but very time consuming. In the days leading up to your wedding, you will have to coordinate with all our vendors with regards to the timings, but having a wedding planner and coordinator’s help can free up your time to run any last minute errands that crop up, or even leave the time free for you to get a spa to relax and unwind!
A Great Team
Karen’s team was relatively well coordinated. Her assistant Li Ping, simultaneous to ensuring thing were running smoothly, was also very helpful in helping me with my outfit changes! She also gave me timely reminders on when I needed to get ready to go on stage, and she also helped me to get some bites so that I would not be hungry! Karen’s husband too was very helpful and willing. He aided in shifting all our things from our Movenpick Hotel Room to Tanjong Beach Club where our beach solemnization and dinner reception was.
If you are looking for a smooth sailing and stress free wedding, I would advice to hire a professional wedding planner and coodinator for your wedding day. Though it can add to your cost initially, you will end up not wasting your precious time and effort. A stress-free wedding day is priceless.
