City Weddings at Amara Singapore, featuring Contemporary Celebrations & Halal Certified Wedding Menus

After our visit to Amara Sanctuary at Resort Sentosa to discover its magical wedding venues, we were eager to check out its flagship hotel – Amara Singapore. This city-centre hotel located at Tanjong Pagar, is a convenient destination for you and all your guests. Located just next to bustling Chinatown heritage and lifestyle mall 100AM, this 392-room hotel showcases contemporary touches with a minimalist theme.

With a grand ballroom, 4 function rooms and chic restaurants for more intimate events, Amara Singapore can cater to celebrations of all scales and sizes. In addition to that, they recently released halal certified wedding menus for Muslim weddings! Read on to discover what else is in store for you.

City Weddings at Amara Singapore

1. Poolside solemnization at the Pavilion

Despite being a contemporary business hotel, Amara Singapore features a romantic pavilion by the poolside perfect for your solemnization ceremony. Here, enjoy an urban resort setting surrounded by leafy trees as you exchange your vows.

2. The Grand Ballroom

Host your wedding banquet at the column-free Grand Ballroom at Amara Singapore, which features an 18-metre march-in aisle and a decorative ceiling that resembles the starry night sky. The ballroom ceiling steams fibre-optic lights that resembles a constellation of stars. You can dance under the stars for your first dance together! With a mood as elegant and romantic as this, your wedding night will truly be a moment to remember.

Amara Singapore also has four other smaller function rooms ideal for cosier setups and intimate weddings.

Amara Singapore is one of the rare finds when it comes to fully halal-certified wedding menus. For our Muslim couples getting married, you are in luck! Enjoy delicious menus certified by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) since 2016. Amara Singapore recognizes that since Singapore is a multi-cultural and diverse society, they would need to expand their offerings to cater to Malay couples as well. Earlier this year, they hosted a Malay bridal showcase that presented the latest and trendsetting Malay wedding decorations, vendors as well as a delectable sampling of their Halal wedding menu. We do urge for couples who are keen on hosting a Malay wedding to watch out for their event next year.

4. Contemporary bridal suites

Amara Singapore houses 392 guestrooms, each portraying a chic, contemporary and modern style that outlines conveniences for today’s busy travellers. Couples will be happy to hear that their rooms have been recently revamped! Rooms stare out into a view of Singapore’s bustling financial district, perfect for metropolis lovers. During our stay, we loved how the hotel was skirted by Singapore’s heritage districts, and come nightfall, the city comes to life with street lights and bustling activities. The hotel houses 4 categories – Deluxe room (32 sqm), Executive Room (32 sqm), Club Room (32sqm), Club Suite (56 sqm) and Executive Suite (65 sqm).

If you are looking to splurge, we recommend a stay in the spacious and plush Club or Executive Suite, designed by the famous designer firm Hirsh Bedner Associates. A beautiful combination of luxury and functionality, these spacious rooms are great for post-wedding relaxations. You also get to enjoy exclusive access to the Club Lounge, for complimentary cocktails every evening.

5. Dining & Facilities

It’s likely that during your wedding, most couples get busy hosting their guests that they hardly have time to enjoy the food. For your post-wedding indulgences, head over to the resident restaurants in Amara Singapore – Element and Thanying. Prior to our stay at Amara Singapore, I have tried the buffet at Element, that features fresh seafood and delicious meat cuts. Thanying, on the other hand, serves up authentic Thai cuisine that marries centuries old eastern and western influences to create titillating tastes in their dishes. The hotel also has facilities such as the 100AM mall next door, a swimming pool, gym and even a futsal court.

For couples looking for a venue with city vibes and contemporary design, do check out Amara Singapore. They were listed as one of the ‘Most Popular Meeting Venues’ by Singapore Press Holdings’ Busines Times in 2015, so we are certain you will be in good hands.
