ErgoTune Review: Supreme Comfort at a Reasonable Price

The weather in Singapore can be excruciatingly hot, especially during the summertime. And if you work in a place with little to no AC, the heat can be impossible to deal with. That said, you need to invest in a breathable chair for comfortable working hours. While there are many office and ergonomic chairs that provide superior comfort and support on busy days, we think that chairs upholstered with mesh fabric are much better at keeping us cool. Thus, we can’t help but to try and review the ErgoTune ergonomic chairs, as they were said to be perfect for Singapore’s hot weather. Before, there are only two types of ErgoTune chairs available in the market: the ErgoTune Supreme and the ErgoTune Classic. But this 2022, they have recently upgraded the Supreme into something even better – the ErgoTune Supreme V3.

Furthermore, ErgoTune caught our attention because their chairs are proudly made right here in Singapore. So, without further ado, here’s our honest review of the best-selling ErgoTune chairs.

Breathable comfort

As we’ve mentioned earlier, mesh chairs are the way to go if you often feel hot and stuffy while working for long hours in Singapore. So, we absolutely love how ErgoTune chairs are upholstered with breathable mesh material. My bottom no longer feels uncomfy even after sitting for the entire afternoon! Even better, the mesh is created from the perfect blend of fabric and polyester, resulting in ErgoTune’s very own DuraWeave™ Hybrid Mesh Upholstery. Hence, not only does the chair feels comfortable, but also extremely durable!

Also, aside from the breathability, mesh chairs are great if you have pets at home. When you go out for errands, you will have peace of mind knowing that your precious ergonomic chair is still in one piece once you return home. No scratches or whatsoever!

Science-backed ergonomics for increased productivity

When looking for the best ergonomic chair, we all want something that will provide the most comfort. And ErgoTune chairs definitely do not disappoint! With a total of 11 adjustment points, the ErgoTune Supreme ensure that every part of your body is well-supported for the optimum seating experience. Our previous chair for the WFH set-up was pretty basic with the usual adjustment features, so we were really blown away by the impressive adjustability and versatility of the ErgoTune Supreme. It seems to adapt perfectly to your body’s natural posture, shape, and activity, which is what we ultimately want for our ergonomic chair at home. ErgoTune Classic also does pretty well for its price, with a total of 7 adjustment points for your comfort.

3D Headrest

Basically, ErgoTune chairs are specially designed to provide maximum comfort from head to toe. If you often suffer from neck pains with your current office chair, then it’s not doing its job right. So, we are so glad that ErgoTune features the TriTune™ 3D Support Headrest (not available in Classic), in which you can extend it front and back, up and down, and even rotate it for optimal comfort. What’s great about the headrest is that it braces the entire height of your neck and lower half of your head, thereby preventing neck strains, tension headaches, and muscle guarding. ErgoTune even enhanced this feature on the latest Supreme V3, now offering 4 axes of adjustments for better fit on your neck.

However, if you are on the shorter side, you may find this headrest quite bothering as it protrudes a lot. So before you purchase, make sure that your height really meets the requirement which is between 150 to 180 cm if you want to ease your neck pains and not give them fire to worsen.

5D Armrests

Like the headrest, the armrests on ErgoTune chairs are fully adjustable and rotatable as well. Regardless of your activity, the GyroBrace™ 5D Armrest provides full arm and wrist support, allowing you to support your forearm in different scenarios. Whether you are reading or playing mobile games on your phone, for sure your arms won’t be left hanging. After all, those hardworking arms need some break, too! The armrests could use some improvements though. It would be much better if they could be locked in place to prevent adjusting them all the time once you’ve found the optimum position.

Easy recline for short breaks

Countless hours in front of the workstation is draining – there’s no doubt about that. So, aside from providing the ultimate comfort for better productivity at work, we should always look for a chair that would also let you rest with ease, even just for a while. Fortunately, ErgoTune chairs let you precisely calibrate both recline angle and tension if ever you want to sit back and relax. It can get really comfy so make sure you don’t accidentally doze off to dreamland! You can lock and unlock the seat recline on the fly, allowing you to switch immediately between sitting up straight whilst replying to emails to fully reclining when getting a much-needed rest.

TrueTilt Precision Recline

If you decide to continue to work upright, the Greek god Atlas will help you get the job done. Well, not really, but just like how the god props up the heavens, ErgoTune’s ATLAS™ or Auto Tuning Lumbar Area Support will keep your back well-supported no matter what. It simultaneously shifts with your body to conform to your lumbar spine’s natural curve automatically, providing the ultimate back support. And now, with the latest Supreme V3, even the support tension is adjustable.

Simple aesthetics

Personally, we don’t mind if our chair looks pretty much simple. But then, we would also appreciate it if the ErgoTune offers more colours and designs to choose from. As of now, the ErgoTune Supreme V3 is only available in three colours: Charcoal Black, Coral Red, and Aqua Blue. Meanwhile, you can only get the ErgoTune Classic in Black. Yes, there are limited options, but ErgoTune chairs look more professional. Thus, extremely suitable in any office or WFH set-up.

ErgoTune chairs

For some, the overall look of the ergonomic chair is as important as its functions. If that’s the case, then maybe you can try Secretlab chairs, as they offer stunning designs while also boasting superior ergonomic features. Their chairs are also customisable based on your preference.

Moreover, since ErgoTune chairs are constructed simply – their assembly is much easier as well. You can assemble one ErgoTune chair quickly with only 6 steps! But if you don’t have the patience (and the time) for furniture building, ErgoTune also offers Assembly Service. So as soon as the chair arrives, feel free to sit on it and get some work done!

Wider range

While the Supreme V3 has plenty of useful upgraded features, what we like the most about it is that it is now size-inclusive. Before, the Ergotune Supreme comes in only one size. Now, you can get the ErgoTune Supreme V3 in Petite (for users with a height <159cm), Standard (160cm-179cm), and Tall (>180cm), allowing users of various body types to sit on the chair more comfortably.

Value for money

What we love about ErgoTune Chairs are not only its versatile features but also its reasonable price point. Compared to many other brands, this chair scores high on our value-for-money criterion. You can already get a reliable mesh ergonomic chair for as low as $399, which is way below Secretlab chairs that are priced from $529.

On top of that, every chair comes with an impressive 12-year warranty, whether you get the Supreme or just the Classic one. Check out this link to know more about how you can extend the warranty for up to 12 years. Every component of ErgoTune chairs is officially certified by multiple international awarding bodies for strength, durability, and non-toxicity. So, we are pretty sure that they can withstand anything life throws at them!

Summary

ErgoTune chairs are ultimately one of the best ergonomic chairs on the market. They are especially great if you live in a country with unpredictable climates and if you easily get hot after sitting for hours.

Pros

  • Great value for money
  • Highly suitable for Singapore’s climate
  • Multiple adjustment features
  • Solid warranty period

Cons

  • Limited options for designs and colours

If your top priority is breathability, we would recommend the award-winning Herman Miller Aeron. But that is, if you have the budget to splurge! If not, ErgoTune chairs are much more affordable while also offering enough “airiness” to let you breathe while working.

And if you have to choose between the ErgoTune Supreme V3 and Classic, we’d say go for the latter. With the 11 adjustment points and additional headrest on the Supreme, the price difference of around $200 is totally worth it.

Summary

Based on our review on ErgoTune chairs, the cons can be negligible as compared with the pros. We hope that we did ErgoTune chairs justice in this review, though, as they are pretty much within the class of their own. Great features plus reasonable pricing – we couldn’t possibly ask for more!

We hope that this Review on ErgoTune chairs gave you an idea of whether you should consider getting their ergonomic chairs for your workstation. If you’ve found this review on ErgoTune chairs to be useful, please do share it with your family and friends, thank you!
