That said, it is no surprise that this resort has  earned many prestigious accolades in the TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards 2022, including being listed as #9 in the Top 25 Best Resorts in the World. 8 Unique Experiences to Discover at the Stunning Padma Resort Ubud

1. Escape to enchanting forests

A hidden gem somewhere in the enchanting forests of Payangan, Padma Resort Ubud is an escape from the outside world, a place where you can truly refresh your mind and body. It also features a 3-hectare Agroforestry Garden. A home for rare and unique plants, herbs, flowers and local fruits, take a stroll around the garden and you will feel genuinely refreshed.

Following Padma’s commitment to sustainability and using local produce, this spacious garden also provides the resort with fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables. No wonder all their food tasted amazing!

2. Take a dip at relaxing infinity pools overlooking lush forests

Padma Resort Ubud also has an 89-metre heated infinity pool that is probably the biggest in the regions near Ubud. In the daytime, this huge pool becomes a social hub for all guests, letting them enjoy the awe-inspiring views of the valley below while also getting a heavy dose of refreshing mountain air.

Surrounded by sumptuous sun loungers and parasols, guests are invited to indulge at the pool-side bar with an ice-cold beer, tropical fruit smoothie or signature cocktail, or enjoy the exquisite comfort-style cuisine (including their signature Mediterranean dishes!) and drinks at The Pool Café & Bar. Honestly, when we visited Padma Resort Ubud, we also preferred dining by the pool since the view from there was just amazing.

If a huge crowd is not your cup of tea, you may head over to the lower pool for greater intimacy. Nestled just below the main pool, the Lower Pool is a resplendent tropical hideaway complete with a manmade cave and waterfall. It can also be booked for intimate dining experiences like a floating breakfast and floating afternoon tea, as well as being an idyllic setting for a small party, a romantic dinner or even a memorable proposal.

3. Stay in expansive luxury suites with amazing views

luxury suites with amazing views

Padma Resort Ubud is a 149-room resort, with every room and suite boasting stunning views.  On our recent stay there, they hosted us in a Family Suite, which was really expansive and luxurious – the perfect accommodation for families and small groups looking for an extravagant vacation. The pinnacle of Padma-inspired luxury, the suite offers an oversized balcony to watch a gorgeous Bali sunset, a large king-sized bed with high-quality linens and special pillows (for different types of sleepers), custom-crafted furnishings and artworks, an en-suite bathroom and more.

We especially love the suite’s bathroom, which comes with a choice of lavish amenities including a bathtub and walk-in rain showers with a waterfall feature. It actually feels like you are bathing under a real waterfall! The suite also has an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Mount Agung – a really great place to relax.

For the best views, though, you should book a Premier Club Room, which is an intimate oasis of contemporary design and functionality complemented by authentic Balinese aesthetics and indulgent amenities. This premier room comes complete with a king-size bed, artisan-crafted furnishings, custom lighting, beautiful hand-carved wooden detailing, state-of-the-art media and a private balcony or terrace.

Furthermore, it provides exclusive access to Club Lounge where guests can also enjoy complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails overlooking the lush bamboo forest and Mount Agung. The sunset there was really beautiful!

4. Enjoy signature decadent dining

There are many dining places in Padma Resort Ubud, though the most sought-out location is probably The Puhu Restaurant. Located in a prime top-floor area of the resort, it offers uninterrupted 180-degree views over the resort, the forest and down the sweeping tropical valley. The view can be enjoyed further with the restaurant’s international collection of tantalising cuisine that is almost as spectacular as the view. If you do not wish to dine from above, you may just enjoy their signature dishes by the pool, which was exactly what we did.

With beautifully presented dishes from around Indonesia, Asia and the West, it can be really overwhelming to choose what to eat for lunch or dinner. Make sure that you try their Thai Green Curry Chicken, which was so awesome that we had it 3 times. We loved the aubergine in it which we usually do not eat, but it was added so perfectly to the dish that we could just not resist.

As for breakfast, I recommend the Sunny Avocado and Pisang Goreng. You may also try their buffet spread, with so many dishes to choose from. Most importantly, be sure to grab their plain and chocolate croissants which all tasted delicious.

On top of the amazing dishes, Padma Resort Ubud also offers other creative ways for how you can enjoy your food better. You may have a floating breakfast, floating afternoon tea, jungle BBQ dinner and a whole lot more. If on a honeymoon, you and your partner can celebrate your love on a romantic dinner at the Bamboo Nest, the most recent romantic spot in the resort.

5. Try different types of unique activities

What’s also great about Padma Resort Ubud is that there are loads of activities you can do here. Most of them are designed especially to connect guests with nature and promote wellness with yoga, cycling, archery, and golf to name a few. The best spot for yoga is probably at the resort’s very own Bamboo Nest, which is a private and tranquil natural cocoon overlooking the seemingly never-ending river valley.

Padma Resort Ubud also boasts an innovative jogging and walking track, which will take you on an undulating 3.4km journey through the expansive resort and, its lush tropical gardens, alongside the crystal-clear waters of the mystical river below.

A beautiful Bamboo Bridge awaits at the lowest part of the jogging track. With its rustic structure, serene vibe, and the unspoiled nature sights all over, this is one of the best spots to take gorgeous photos in the entire resort.

Out of all the activities we tried in the resort, we really enjoyed doing archery since we do not usually get to do that back home. Our archery class was safe, secure, and done under the supervision of Padma Resort’s Ubud’s well-trained staff, so we were able to learn the proper techniques while having loads of fun!

6. Have fun with the entire family

And if you have kids with you, Padma Resort Ubud also has an animal garden and a fishing lagoon where you can feed friendly animals together with your little ones. Set within a natural environment, you will see the rescued otters (can even hold them!), pigeons, chickens, ducks, turtles, and domesticated animals like rabbits, turkeys, guineafowls, cows, goats, and more. Your kids will love it here for sure!

After hanging out with the friendly animals, kids may refresh in a safe and shallow pool designed especially for them. The pool even has a wonderful waterfall for frolics and fun!

For children who prefer staying indoors, or perhaps on rainy days, Padma Resort Ubud also has a Wolly Kids Club to keep them entertained. After all, we know that happy kids result in happy parents and an overall amazing vacation! Located right beside the kiddie pool, Wolly Kids Club offers a range of dynamic activities and educational toys, along with separate rooms for gaming and watching movies.

On sunny days, kids can play and hang out at the resort’s outdoor kiddie area. From there, they can learn all about gardening, too!

7. Relax through an exotic spa experience

The views from Padma Resort Ubud can be really so serene, but true relaxation can be achieved by getting a spa treatment from the resort’s unique spa.  Set just above the main infinity pool, The Spa at Padma Resort Ubud is a sanctuary of wellness, pampering and serenity. The spa’s reception area is beautifully-designed in stone and is water-rich, almost looking cave-like and really exotic.

The massage therapists were highly skilled, offering a wide range of authentic treatments and therapies inspired by authentic Asian rituals as well as global trends. We actually got to experience a great massage from them, with good technique, strong pressure and all. They could even do a pre-natal massage for Joce who is pregnant!

8. Experience Padma signature service

What we also appreciated during our stay was how everyone was really nice, polite, and professional in the resort. They were always smiling, which is what you can expect from the renowned Padma Hotels brand. Even our little one was highly satisfied by their service!

Also, they made sure that our arrival and departure were stress-free, providing a Hyundai H1 transport van that was incredibly comfortable and spacious.  All of our luggages, 12 pieces (we had too many baby stuff), we’re able to fit perfectly.
