The Bellevue Manila – A Refreshing Urban Abode in the heart of Alabang, Manila for your Wedding & Honeymoon

The Philippines has always been one of our top favourites when it comes to honeymooning in Asia, thanks to the heartwarming smiles and genuine hospitality from the locals. It is one of the destinations we find ourselves going back to every year. This gem of Southeast Asia is a tropical paradise with over 7,000 islands to choose from. But apart from being a beach lover’s paradise, the country has much more to offer. In this issue, we seek out a city experience in the Philippines from one of the well-known hospitality brands – The Bellevue.

With 4 destinations under its wing – The Bellevue Manila, The Bellevue Bohol, B Hotel Alabang and B Hotel Quezon City, each hotel under The Bellevue offers you a distinctive and memorable experience. We set out to discover The Bellevue Manila, a stunning urban abode located in the premier upscale area of Alabang, is one of the top 5* hotels in Muntinlupa. After our visit, we walked away with a refreshing new experience that we did not know previously existed in the bustling city of Manila. Read on to discover the warm hospitality, delicious dining and comfortable amenities that you can enjoy on your Manila honeymoon.

8 Reasons to discover The Bellevue Manila for your Wedding & Honeymoon Destination

1. A refreshing setting in the city

When in the city, we paint a picture of crazy crowds, rush hour traffic, and long queues at dining places. At The Bellevue Manila, the scene does not really quite add up to that. Surrounded by trees, there is a sense of tranquility and calmness surrounding the property that we can’t quite put a finger too. The soothing and relaxing vibes that we enjoyed during our stay was a relatively unexpected experience in Manila, especially considering that it is the most densely populated city in the world.

Extravagant by day and elegant at night, The Bellevue Hotel offers weary couples a respite from the concrete jungle of Manila City. The warm and cozy setting of the city definitely soothed our city-tired souls. It comes as no surprise that The Bellevue Manila is a hot favourite amongst locals. Read their reviews here.

2. Relish in delicious international dining at Café d’ Asie

Though Matt and I are not particularly foodies by nature, nothing beats a delicious and heartwarming dinner after a long day. The Bellevue Manila was where we discovered one of the best tasting buffets we have visited. CafĂ© d’Asie, their in-house restaurant, serves up all-day buffet international dining for both lunch and dinner, with themed dinners on weekends! I can’t express how lucky we were to have stayed there over the weekend – we got to taste both their famous Seafood Friday and Saturday Meat Buffet (with free flow wine)!

Seafood Friday featured a bed of fresh seafood where you can pick your favourites to grill – crabs, squids, prawns, shellfish, and a wide variety of fish. You name it, you have it! One of their kind service staff even brought over a plate of piping hot buttered prawns – a must-try on your visit!

The buffet also featured other cuisines like Japanese (freshly sliced salmon!), Western, Filipino, even Mongolian! It was a cozy spread, and each dish was scrumptious and well-prepared. There was no doubt CafĂ© d’Asie was going to be our go-to every evening throughout our stay – and it was. Each visit to CafĂ© d’Asie saw us literally staying for hours – there was so much we wanted to taste!

Their Saturday Buffet featured two things to die for – free flow wine and freshly grilled meats. If you ask me, a good steak paired with an aromatic medium-bodied wine is hard to beat. Where the seafood live station was, came Sunday was replaced by a big spread of meats – wagyu, sirloin and prime beef, lamb, chicken and more. The other stations were inevitably neglected with this one around.

Each night, a US prime rib sits under the spotlight as the buffet centerpiece. Tender and flavourful, every slice is lathered with their black pepper mushroom sauce and surrounded by grilled vegetables. A definite must try on your visit!

3. Indulge in specialty dining at Chinese Phoenix Court

If you are craving for more oriental delights, Phoneix Court sits in The Bellevue Manila and is the only fine dining Chinese restaurant in the area. Featuring a creative take on traditional Chinese cuisine, the chefs at Phoneix Court presents you with mouthwatering dishes that blend innovation with authenticity beautifully.

Their specialties Peking Duck, Mango Lapu-Lapu, Two Variety Chicken and Beef Tenderloin in Pepper Sauce come highly recommended. Do also give their Dimsum and noodle bar a try. Make sure to reserve a table here for in-house guests get a special 20% discount! Phoenix Court is also available for private dinners for 8-25 guests, so if you are in search of an intimate venue to host your family, this is a good spot to consider.

Japanese Dining at Hatsune

The Bellevue Manila also serves up Japanese cuisine at Hatsune, which means ‘First Sound of Spring’. The restaurant decor is very true to casual Japanese dining, and here you can also enjoy awesome Teppanyaki. With 4 private rooms available, you can opt to have a romantic dining experience with your partner. For sashimi lovers like me, this dining spot will most definitely whet up your appetite.

If you are one who loves to relax and indulge in delicious meals, The Bellevue Manila offers an array of options for you – from international dining to Chinese and Japanese cuisine, you will be spoilt for choice. We were impressed by the authenticity of the different cuisines, for it takes specialized skill and extensive knowledge to prepare each cuisine well. Our stay saw us craving to revisit each place a second or third time.

4. Feel right at home with a welcoming ambience

Evident the moment you step foot into the property, the hospitality of The Bellevue Manila shines through. We were greeted with smiles and a heartening ambience that made us feel right at home, and we can safely say the same for their many guests who were checking in at the same time. From the front desk to the restaurant to the hotel entrances, their staff always made us feel warm and welcomed.

As we left and returned back to the hotel from our daily outdoor activities each day, the bellboy and security staff at the entrance always radiated positive energy and were kind and friendly in conversation. We were surprised that they took the effort to remember their guests considering the hotel houses over 300 rooms! On our second day, we received a lovely handwritten note from our housekeeping staff to wish us a great day. We were touched by the warm surprise gesture, definitely the hallmark of the high-quality Filipino hospitality that many tourists rave about!

5. Take delight in clean and comfortable rooms

During our stay, we had the luxury to stay in the Signature suite at The Bellevue Manila. Located on the 21st floor of the hotel, we were impressed by the spaciousness and comfort of the suites. Fully carpeted, the room had a pantry area, dining table, living space, bedroom and a bathroom that came complete with a bathtub and standing shower. The bed and sheets, one of my crucial elements in making a stay unforgettable – was plush and luxe to the touch.

During our entire stay, we felt cocooned in a relaxing space, perfect for indulging in room service and each others’ company.

Staying in the suite also gave us exclusive access to their Signature Lounge. The 900 sqm lounge occupies the hotel’s entire 21st floor and is exclusive to guests staying in any of the suites or the 45 Signature rooms. Embracing privacy and personalized attention, this space redefines a honeymoon vacation for us all. The 94-seater lounge also overlooks the Alabang skyline, and is a great spot for you to relax over unlimited cocktails from 5 to 8 pm as you watch dawn turn to dusk.

The hotel only has 3 Signature Suites. If you are looking for an unforgettable, luxurious experience, be sure to make your reservations early to avoid missing out!

The Bellevue Manila houses 6 different categories of rooms – Deluxe, Tower Deluxe, Signature Deluxe, Junior Suite, Tower Suite and our top favourite – Signature Suite. Delight yourselves in a serene spot for relaxation and comfort. Click here to view their room promotions.

6. Pamper yourself with their spa offerings

A honeymoon is made complete with a relaxing couple spa session.

During our stay, unfortunately, the Azurea Spa located on the 3rd floor of the Tower Wing was undergoing renovations. But that did not stop us from experiencing their spa treatments, which I have to add, are highly affordable – a 90-minute Swedish Massage only sets you back Php1,200 (S$30+)! You can hardly find such affordable rates at any other 5-Star hotel. And as if that rate was not a good enough deal, you can even use the spa’s complimentary facilities such as the hot jacuzzi and dry sauna.

We opted for their in-room massage, which was very convenient and fuss-free. You do not even need to step foot out of your room! As we were busy exploring Manila throughout the day, we were thankful that the spa services were available from 11 am to 1 am the next morning. Having a spa open past midnight is unheard of, for most hotels we visited usually take their last appointments by 7 or 8 pm. Having a spa that closes at 1 am was just awesome!

7. Sip refreshing cocktails by the poolside or enjoy afternoon tea at The Pastry Corner

The poolside

Relax and unwind during your Manila honeymoon. Sip your favourite cocktail or smoothie with your toes dipped in the clear waters of the pool. Soak up the sun while lying on their lounge beds. This is life. At the poolside on the 3rd floor of the Main Wing at The Bellevue Manila, you can also order light snacks, fresh drinks and scrumptious desserts, anytime from 7 am to 10 pm. Great for those days when all you want to do is laze around.

The Pastry Corner

For sweet tooths, the Pastry Corner at The Bellevue Manila is a perfect corner for you to grab that afternoon read over a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Enjoy light pastries and delicate baked creations here. We recommend you try the Chocolate Truffle, Mango Cream Cake, Aunt Dei Cheesecake and their famous Ensaymada.
