11 Best Family Resorts in Bali

1. Viceroy Bali

Viceroy Bali Best Family Resorts Bali

A place where time seems to slow down, the award-winning Viceroy Bali is the perfect spot for some family downtime. This luxury resort is situated on a ridge overlooking the verdant Valley of the Kings, so nature and tranquillity will truly be within your reach. The resort is actually family-owned and managed (with some of them present on site daily!), so the intimate and friendly ambience is felt throughout the resort.

Our family actually got to stay in one of their luxurious, contemporary Balinese villas that comes with its own heated infinity-edge pool. The pool is perfect for babies, little kiddos, and those with sensitive skin as it is treated with the more effective and sustainable hydrogen peroxide instead of chlorine. Our little girl had a blast in the pool!

Once your kids are settled for the day, request a babysitting service so you and your partner can head out for a much-needed date night at the sophisticated Apéritif Restaurant. More than just the delish meals, the restaurant boasts a stunning 1920s colonial-style interior that makes the best photos. It even comes complete with a lovely wine cellar for amazing drinks to end the night. Their 6-course degustation menu is definitely a must-try, especially the Chawanmushi and Tokusen Wagyu Carpaccio they serve.

Looking for the best child-parent bonding activity? Enrol in a family surfing lesson or splash around the resort’s huge pool!

To top it all off, children ages 6 and under dine free (when accompanied by a parent, of course) in all restaurants inside the resort, while half-price meals are offered for children ages 7-12. This is your chance to let your kids experience fancy meals in such a sophisticated setting!

What’s also great about Alila Villas Uluwatu is that their cliff-edge and poolside villas are all baby-friendly. When we stayed at one of their villas just recently, we were surprised by all the baby amenities inside. They provided us with a Pigeon steam steriliser, a baby playmat, a baby hooded towel, a baby potty, a baby bathtub, and a baby high chair for feeding. They even gave our Baby girl her own adorable little bathrobe and tiny bathroom slippers, which we really loved. All these just prove how world-class their service can be!

Beautiful backdrop right at the entrance of our villa

Speaking of dining, our breakfast at the villa restaurant was great. We were served everything from miso soup and croissants to Eggs Atlantic and nasi goreng. You can even request for breakfast to be served to your very own villa for extra comfort – no need to walk to the restaurant in the morning! Not only do the chefs know their way around Indonesian, Southeast Asian, and Western cuisine, but they can also prepare for your dietary goals and requirements, and even teach you how to cook Balinese food. While you can stay in and simply order meals, you can also check out our favourite local restaurant – Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen.

There is a small area with shallow waters – perfect for your little bub to frolick and splash around. What’s also great is that there is a laundry shop nearby with very affordable rates for laundry. Thanks to our friendly butler and the rest of The Amala Estate’s amazing staff, we definitely enjoyed our stay.
